CALLING ALL 6C-2005 AND 6A-2007 PUPILS!

There will be a 'mini' fund-raising carnival at Unity Primary on 5 Novemeber (Wednesday)! TIME: 1 - 3 p.m.

I would like to invite all my former pupils to come and support our current P6 classes. My class is setting up 4 game/tikam stalls. It costs only 30 to 50 cents per game.

If you are free on that day, please come and support us. All proceeds to go to the School Pocket Money Fund for our needy pupils.

For those who are interested to come, you will NEED MY INVITATION. It will NOT be an open house that day. You will need to send an email to me at: tintin71@gmail.com

with the subject line: I WANT TO COME TO UNITY'S FUND-RAISING CARNIVAL!

and your NAME/CLASS/YEAR as the main contents.

I will then compile a list and hand it to the Security guards. This is a strictly 'by invitation' event. You CANNOT enter if your name is not on the invite list.

thanks for making today (29/8/08) a wonderful day. it is always great to see the ones who have flown the coop come back and visit. it means a lot to me that you made the effort to come back. i am sorry we didn't have too much time together. the arrangement really isn't ideal. for those who couldn't make it back today, please know that i missed you. anyway, i am so happy that most of you are doing so well. please continue to work hard and make things happen. for those who are not doing so well, please know that my good wishes are always with you and i hope you put in the required effort. nothing would make me happier than see you guys succeed.

i am really happy to see you guys get re-acquainted and reminisce about the past. i felt really nostalgic today too. i am so happy that you are keeping your old friendships. please continue. that said, it also saddens me that some of you are no longer on talking terms for one reason or another. i don't know what has transpired, but i believe it has been a stroke of serendipity / fortuitous arrangement by the universe that brought us together and it would be a real pity not to cherish that friendship. i hope that you would all bury whatever hatchets you have and clear up misunderstandings. life is too short; let's not become strangers.

Because currently, we can't confirm a meet up as a class before going as the class has different timeslots that their schools release them. Hi Tutors, thanks for a successful first lesson! I hope you have had fun.

Initial reactions (I asked a few of them) and they said they liked your lesson, that you have explained well. Well done!

One note - while doing problem sums, try to LEAD them to find out the answer rather than tell them: this step, do this, next step, do that. Try to 'decode' the question together with them by picking out the key words and asking them what to find for the next step, for example. Test and see if they understand what the question requires of them. Sometimes, due to their English, they misunderstand the question, so ask them to explain to you what the question wants. Do not be too quick to provide help/answers, lest they become too dependent.

Anyway, great job today! See you guys again next week! :)

Attention all Math tutors, the first lesson will be ON THIS FRIDAY (28/3/08)!

I have already left your names with the security guard. Just say you are here for 6D's Maths tuition class, or just say my name. Please come in your school uniform and DO NOT bring anyone. Only YOU will be allowed in. You can come anytime from 3pm.

My consent form will say 3.30-4.45pm, but you guys can come in earlier because some of your 'tutees' will be free. Some of them have MT supp class till 3.3opm.

For this Friday, it would be great if you can come earlier (around 3pm), so I can give you some background on the pupils you are in charge of. Each of you will be taking 3.

You can bring a calculator to help you with menial calculations, but DON'T let your 'tutees' use them.

I will prepare the worksheets, but if you can, bring an old assessment book in case they finish their work fast and you can assign them work and practise on the spot.

Hi, I have worked out a tentative plan for the tuition classes based on your preferences. I am not sure when the classes will start. I am thinking maybe we can start in term 2, after the March holidays.

We will have the classes on Wed, Thu and Fri, so I am sorry I cannot fit you in, Yeow Chien. Maybe next time?

Guys, don't worry if you cannot make it to UPS by 3. I can still change the time to 3.15. I can't make it too late because the pupils are dismissed at 1. I don't want them to run around and get into trouble. In any case, they can start on their work before you arrive.

Hey all! Is anyone interested to do CIP in UPS? To teach P6 Math once weekly for 1.5 hours. I am looking at Fridays, 3-4.30 pm. How? Can anyone help? If you can, and you still remember your P6 stuff, including model-drawing (my heart will break if you say you have forgotten everything), please contact me! The pupils are very weak and desperately need more personalised help. Btw, there is no pay hor. But you can chalk up some CIP hours. I will write to your school or fill in forms. I dunno. Hey, 6A (; Its me, Qian.
I'm still quite busy with some work, I'm sorry. Okay, I'm here to post.
I'm still not very sure of the details yet, but some of us would be going back to Unity for the New Year. And a couple of us, are trying to come up with a plan to be back at Unity for C.I.P( Communitee Involvement Programme). Well, things are still in progress, but I ought to be updating you guys on some of the information.

Alright, regarding the visits back to school. Quite a number of us has met up and gone back recently for a visit at Unity. And according to the staff and the guards there, there is a need for an appointment with the teachers before we could acctually enter the school premises. And if any of the teachers in there wants to see you, they have to come to the gate and bring you in. So yeah, next time you guys are going back for a visit, do call up the teachers to let them know and at the same time, gain permission. Argh, I'm saying this incase some of you guys get shoo-ed off by the guards and more. (A few of us already did, which got us pissed off). Okay, right.

The CLASS BLOG for 6A'07 is partially done, alright. I apologise greatly for the long period of waiting though. I'm going to continue working on it for quite sometime, and will link and invite every 6A-ian asap. Seriously, a thousand apologises. I know this current skin is totally dull and sort of colourless. I'll try to improve on it, alright. Unless someone takes over, k. I know I'm bad luh.

I suppose the new secondary life for you guys have already started, so yeah. I seriously hope you guys would find someone you could confide in and trust in that new school. Good luck, 6A. While I'm still trying to adapt to the life at my side, I believe some of you should have the same problem as well.
